I've had a burning desire to change the world for as long as I can remember.

I’m sure you’ve had that too.

And maybe like you, I’ve never quite known how that was going to happen.

All I knew is that one day, I would BECOME something great.

It starts young.

“What do you want to BE when you’re older?” she’d ask.

“You’re BECOMING such a competent, well-rounded young lady” he’d say.

But here’s the thing…

While I could rattle off an impressive list of accomplishments, achievements and accolades,

Rarely do people compliment you on who you ARE.

It feels unnatural.

Conditional, perhaps.

Because you have X’ed, that now means you’re Y.

We’re told that we should be this, and should not be that.

And before we know it, we’re a carbon copy of the last 12 generations.

OR worse, we don’t really know WHO we are.

We go through the motions without learning the steps.

We walk around like lifeless zombies,

And the fact of the matter is that we don’t even realize we’re doing it!

Fact: Some of us will never find our true gifts.

Some of us will never change the world.

Some of us are too bogged down by rules, by “shoulds" and by unanswered questions.

I find this one part humorous to two parts sad.

Think about it - the freedom we crave is earned by what we DO in the world.

I’ve been chewing on this one for a while now and it finally hit me.

One day I woke up and asked myself:

What would it take to strip away the “shoulds"?

Who would I be if I had permission to become who I truly was?

And scariest of all:

Who would I be if I was boldly unapologetic, dangerously unscripted and beautifully unbreakable?

If that was the lens, who would the subject be?

I’m tired of watching the industry “leaders” act out of integrity, when people are watching or not.

I’m frustrated by the amount of negativity, prejudice, depression and oppression.

I’m saddened by the people doing good in the world who feel there’s no place for them in a dog-eat-dog world.

I’ve GOT to put my foot down.

I’m standing up for the new wave of leaders.

I want them to know they don’t need to prove themselves.

They don’t need to BECOME something amazing, they already are.

Then I found this quote by Paul Coelho:

“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.”

Because it’s not until we strip away the shoulds, give ourselves permission to BE and redefine our metrics that we can achieve TRUE success in business and life.

We can have it all. It's possible. We just haven’t captured its essence.

My podcast is out to prove this exact message.

It’s time for a new take on leadership, and I’m the one who will bring that to you.

Will it change the world? Who knows.

Will it change your perspective? Guaranteed.

When you become part of this podcast, you’re more than a listener…

You’re part of a movement.

And I couldn’t be more proud and excited for us.

With that said, I want to welcome you to our brand new podcast, UNBECOMING, which will be released VERY soon!

Thank you for all your support and I’ll check in next week with updates!

Sending you lots of love.
